What is Neon Aim?
Neon Aim is a free aim trainer that runs in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create. Open the page, pick a mode, and you are training within a few seconds. Each run lasts about thirty seconds, so you can fit one in between matches or during a short break.
It works on a laptop with a mouse and on a phone with your finger. Both use the same game, and both are fully playable.
Four training modes
Aiming is not one skill. It is several, and most people are far weaker at one of them than the others. Neon Aim splits them apart so you can see which one is holding you back.
- Flick — a target appears somewhere new each time. This trains the fast snap from one point to another.
- Tracking — the target keeps moving and you have to stay on it. This is the skill you use against a player who is strafing.
- Precision — the target is very small. This trains the tiny final correction most people rush.
- Reaction — nothing to aim at until it appears. Pure reflex speed, measured in milliseconds.
Try all four once. The mode with your worst hit percentage is the one worth repeating.
How to play
On a computer: move the mouse to aim and left click the orange target. On the start screen you can press 1, 2, 3 or 4 to jump straight into a mode.
On a phone or tablet: tap the target with your finger. In Tracking mode, hold your finger down and follow the target as it moves. Targets are drawn larger on touch screens so your finger is not the limiting factor.
One thing worth knowing before your first run: accuracy counts for more than speed here. Every miss lowers your hit percentage, and your hit percentage decides how many points the run is worth. Firing fast and missing scores worse than firing slower and hitting.
Scores, ranks and streaks
Every run gives you a score, a hit percentage, and points. Those points carry over between visits and move you up through seven ranks, starting at Bronze and ending at Grandmaster. Reaching the top rank takes a long time on purpose.
The game also keeps your best score in each mode, your best accuracy, and a daily streak that grows each day you come back. All of it saves in your own browser, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off.
Who this is for
Anyone who plays shooters and wants a place to warm up without launching a full game. It is also useful if you have just changed your mouse, your sensitivity, or your grip, and want a number to compare against instead of a feeling.
An honest note: a browser trainer is not the same as practising in the game you actually play. Recoil, movement and pressure are missing. What it does give you is a clean, repeatable measurement of your raw aim, which is hard to get inside a real match.
